ENVIROnav comprises two
discrete but interconnected components. The first is an
on-board console to monitor a range on vehicle systems,
including truck speeds, braking and even details such as
temperature conditions of attached refrigerated trailers. The
console also identifies the truck’s location in real-time via
GPS and communicates this to head office via the GPRS mobile
data system.
The second component is
the Event Server, which gives transport companies the
ability to monitor data online and pick out the intelligent
information needed to operate their business better. That
information can trigger events by the system, such as sending an
SMS to alert to the driver’s supervisor, slowing down the
vehicle and, if necessary, even shutting down the vehicle.
Even over speed around bends for trains can be automatically
controlled to reduce the risk of derailment and aftermath.
