STEELbuilder provides an intuitive modeling environment that you can control in line with your design standards. For example, if your design standards include stud members in walls directly under a truss support point, then STEELbuilder will automatically take care of this for you.

By having an intelligent modeling environment your design people don’t need to waste time on the detail. STEELbuilder will do this for you with a net result of reduced errors, reduced costly onsite rework, and a reduction in detailing time from hours or days to minutes.

Your detailers are not working with lines, circles or surfaces when using STEELbuilder. They are creating models with logical building components called SMARTypes.

In effect the detailers are handling walls, trusses, floor and other building type components (SMARTypes) that your can define to match your unique building standards. The intelligence comes from the way these SMARTypes interact together. For example:

• A wall knows how it joins to another wall
• A wall can be automatically broken in length to transport to site.
• A window can be positioned to minimise the amount of brickwork or cutting.

You can create as many SMARTypes as you wish to cover the variety in your building standards. This means that you can specify multiple Wall Frame SMARTypes for commercial use, domestic use or internal and external use.

This means that your design people don’t need months of training or a comprehensive building knowledge to be highly productive. A couple of days training and they will be producing designs in excess of 500% over other practices.

So your business does not have to be limited by the number of details you have.

Working Environment

STEELbuilder’s 3D graphical environment provides all of the power of a high end CAD type product but with greater control over visibility, documention and drawing creation.

All detailed framing drawings and assembly plans are created with the click of a button complete with title block and project information. So you no longer need to spend time creating a professional looking document when STEELbuilder does it for you automatically.

Errors are normally made in 3D CAD environments because the extent of information can hide critical aspects of the design. While STEELbuilder automatically reduces the risk of errors, STEELbuilder does provides a powerful yet simple viewing tool that makes it easy to see what is happening at the click of a button.

The features don’t end here, STEELbuilder provides revision control so that you can instantly go back to an older version should a client want multiple options to choose from.
